Graphic Tips

When submitting artwork to Sign Graphx, please use the following guidelines to help ensure a top-quality design.

Vector vs. Bitmap

A vector image allows for infinite scaling/resizing. The file information is contained within a mathematic equation that correlates to the onscreen image, basically connecting imaginary points in a 2 dimensional space. Vector graphics are useful for any and all printing applications, vinyl lettering and signage.

A bitmap image is file that contains color information that is plotted onto a 2 dimensional grid. Essentially, a bitmap is like taking graph paper and coloring in the squares to produce an image. This type of file is not easily resized and tends to lose some clarity in the process. Bitmaps are useful for printing and for online or web-based graphics.
